Drake accuses UMG and Spotify of artificially streaming Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’

According to TMZ. Drake claims in legal documents that an “inside source” has made it aware to him that Universal Music Group (also known as UMG) made what’s known as “covert payments” to various platforms, such as radio stations, to flood their listeners with Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’, also promoting the track. This practice, which is legally known as ‘payola’, is prohibited by the FFC.

UMG did not rely on chance, or even ordinary business practices. It instead launched a campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves
