‘Chicken Tenders’ is the first single Dominic Fike released for this debut, full-length project ‘What Could Possibly Go Wrong’. On the track, Dominic mixes typical alternative pop sound with a touch of R&B and singing about living in luxury with his lover. The song also features high-pitched vocals in chorus which talk about having chicken tenders with the lover.
Originally supposed to release on the 5th of June, 2020, Dominic pushed back the release of the single due to the George Floyd protests, stating:
“Last week, I was supposed to put out the first song from my debut album. Instead something much more important happened. People were forced to have a conversation that’s been long overdue. It doesn’t feel right to release music today but it does feel right to continue this conversation.”
